It is often all too easy to lose motivation and forget about the enthusiasm you have for your job.

Personal development in the workplace is key to resolving this and through learning the right actions to take it is possible to rediscover your business mojo.

Take the first step to a fresh start by joining Aberdeen Entrepreneurs at a special event on Tuesday April 19, which will focus on confidence, motivation and being the best version of yourself.

The event will include psychometric testing to help delegates understand what makes them and others 'tick' and how they can improve the way they relate to colleagues, friends and family. Innovative tools and activities will enhance motivation and confidence building.

Principal of Aberdeen Entrepreneurs, Carolyn Maniukiewicz, said: “All individuals are unique and work in different ways, which means it is essential for people to recognise how they learn and interact with others and how best to harness this to make the most of their abilities.

“This event is a fantastic chance to discover this, build confidence and enhance team working skills – whilst providing hints and tips on how to enhance their strengths in order to maximise their performance. It will also offer great networking opportunities with other delegates and I would encourage anyone interested to come along.”

Notes to editor

Aberdeen Entrepreneurs business networking group offers a working environment for business individuals to come and meet new people, network, gain business opportunities and have an enjoyable evening with like-minded people.

Time: 18:00 – 20:30 Entrepreneurial Scotland Dinner. Mike Logie speaking at Elevator.

An Evening with Mike Loggie
Venue: Elevator HQ
Time: 18:00 – 20:30
The vision of Entrepreneurial Scotland is for Scotland to become the most entrepreneurial society in the world.

The Exchange, the network for those running an organisation to meet likeminded people and to exchange experiences, techniques, ideas and challenges in a confidential environment, holds this event.

This event will be to an audience of 50 people, predominantly business leaders who are members of the Leaders Exchange, who want to hear the behind the scenes story of Mike Loggie. At Leaders Exchange events, we are looking for the ‘warts and all’ version of the story.

The audience are going through business growth, experiencing the challenges and sleepless nights that come with scaling a business. After Leaders Exchange events, members leave the room feeling less alone, more in control and inspired to raise their ambition level.

We are an action focused network and members often talk about the ‘nuggets’ that they have taken away from event speakers - the insights, tips or techniques that they can apply when they are back at their desk the next morning.

The format of the event will be a fireside chat with Sandy Kennedy before opening to the floor for questions from the audience.

Wednesday, 20th April

Time: 7:00 - 9:00 AGCC Business Breakfast, Entrepreneurship Driving Growth

Entrepreneurship Driving Growth
Venue: The Aberdeen Altens Hotel, Aberdeen
Time: 7:00am - 9:00am
Speaker: Cally Russell, CEO and founder, Mallzee
Speaker: Mick Jackson, CEO and founder, WildHearts Group
Held during North East Business Week, this breakfast shines the spotlight on entrepreneurship and we hear from two very different practitioners.

Cally Russell has never regretted turning down an offer of £75,000 from Peter Jones on Dragons Den, and the subsequent £2.5million from the Royal Mail Group vindicates his decision.

As the CEO and founder of Mallzee, the personal shopping app that Yahoo claimed would “change the way the world shopped”, Cally talks through the journey from idea to $5million investment and employing a workforce of 25 in only two years, as well as what it feels like to be on the Forbes magazine’s 30 Under 30 European influencers list.

Mick Jackson, CEO and founder of WildHearts, wants to dispel the myth that entrepreneurship is an identity for the few as he believes that it is a way of thinking and acting that we all possess.

He explains how entrepreneurship is the greatest catalyst in creating social and economic change and how tapping into your deepest values, you can unleash not only your own entrepreneurial mind but that of everyone in your organisation. To book your place, please click here

Research shows that the strengths associated with families in business together give family businesses the potential to outperform all other forms of enterprise.

However, research also shows that as family businesses grow and succeeding generations become involved, the complex and emotional issues associated with managing the often conflicting needs of the business and the family can conspire to limit the potential for success of the business - and in too many cases can lead to the failure of the business altogether.

This practical and informative workshop delivered by Family Business Solutions Ltd (FBS) , Scotland’s only specialist Family Business Consultancy, in collaboration with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and the Scottish Family Business Association (SFBA) will provide delegates with:

• Insight into how family dynamics can impact on the family and the business.
• Knowledge that enables steps to be taken either to deal constructively with family related issues that already exist or put plans in place to avoid them arising in the first place.
• Tips and ideas to maximise the benefits of family involvement and realise the full potential of your business.
• Opportunities to share experiences, problems and solutions with other family business people.

Feedback from previous attendees.
• “Realised that these are issues (current and future) which will need more attention and consideration.”
• “Brilliant, informative, well delivered – no recommendations other than it could have been slightly longer.”
• “Helped clarify why issues related to succession can be difficult to address whilst also showing how, with some independent advice and help, plans can be put in place. Clearly this is a high priority for us.”
• “Excellent – demonstrated a great depth of knowledge and understanding of family businesses and how to provide the practical help that we need.”
• “Better understanding of my own circumstances within a family business and a better understanding of the other family dynamics. Reinforcement of the need for future planning.”
